When first came the soft gums, the schoolyards were overrun with rumour. It was the Bubble Yum that first came for us and with it tales of spiders eggs and rats hair. We chewed it anyway, no matter what the ingredients. And we liked it. Hubba Bubba came then, softer with more flavour and without the bad reputation. That also, was liked by us. Our jaws tired with chewing but not about to stop.
